If you have stock leaf sprung axles you have 2 options:\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003col class=\"list-decimal\"\u003e\r\n\u003cli class=\"ml-4\"\u003e\r\n\u003cp class=\"first:mt-1.5!\"\u003eYou can fit the 5 speed to the engine then modify the \u003cstrong\u003eLT230\u003c\/strong\u003e to part time 4 wheel drive and fit this in conjunction with free wheeling hubs on the front. This kit works by fitting parts inside the \u003cstrong\u003eLT230\u003c\/strong\u003e centre diff to change the operation of the diff lock: in the \"diff locked\" position the centre diff is locked providing drive to front and rear props, but in the \"unlocked\" position there is no drive to the front, only the rear. When used with free wheeling hubs, the front prop and diff are not spinning.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003c\/li\u003e\r\n\u003cli class=\"ml-4\"\u003e\r\n\u003cp class=\"first:mt-1.5!\"\u003eThe other option is to fit the \u003cstrong\u003eLT77\u003c\/strong\u003e or \u003cstrong\u003eR380\u003c\/strong\u003e and then fit the series transfer case onto the back of it with this kit. This way you retain the stock Series transfer case with selectable 2\/4WD. You can also fit freewheeling hubs so you are not wasting fuel spinning the front drivetrain.
