This is a distributor rotor arm for the V8 engine, from the Allmakes 4x4 brand.
It distributes the high-tension spark to each cylinder in turn inside the distributor cap, and is usually renewed during ignition servicing or when its contact is burnt or cracked.
Compatible with Land Rover Defender and Range Rover Classic (3.5 V8).
