This is an oil-filled front shock absorber from the Raptor 4x4 brand.
It damps the movement of the front suspension springs to keep the tyres in contact with the road, and is usually replaced when it leaks oil, the vehicle bounces or wallows, or the ride becomes uncomfortable.
Compatible with Land Rover Series I, Series II and Series III/Santana.
