This is the 30-tooth 1st gear pinion for the non-synchronised gearbox, made by Allmakes 4x4. It is usually replaced when its teeth are worn or chipped, when the gearbox becomes noisy in first gear or jumps out of gear, or during a gearbox overhaul.
