This is a Delco ignition distributor for V8 petrol engines, made by Allmakes 4x4. It sends high voltage from the coil to each spark plug in the correct firing order. It is usually replaced when the shaft is worn or there are internal faults causing misfires or poor running.
Compatible with Land Rover Defender 3.5 V8, Discovery 1 V8 and Range Rover Classic 3.5 V8.
