This is a 3-pin distributor ignition module from the Lucas brand.
It switches the ignition coil to produce the spark at the right moment, and is usually replaced when the engine misfires, cuts out when hot or will not start because there is no spark.
Compatible with Land Rover Defender, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic (V8 petrol).
