This is a hydraulic tappet from the Allmakes 4x4 brand.
It transmits camshaft movement to the valve gear and automatically takes up valve clearance, and is usually changed when the engine develops a tapping noise or during a top-end rebuild.
Compatible with Land Rover Defender (3.5 V8), Discovery 1 (V8), Discovery 2 (V8), Series III/Santana (3.5 V8), Range Rover Classic (V8) and Range Rover P38 (V8).
